Situated in the northeastern part of the new Shangcheng District, Dinglan Subdistrict borders Linping District to the east, Gongshu District to the west, the Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway and Jianqiao Airport to the south, and Gaoting Mountain to the north. Renowned as a land of filial piety and love, it boasts scenic spots such as the Thousand-Peach Garden and Longju Temple, embodying the rich cultural heritage of a 2,000-year-old ancient town in northern Zhejiang. Originally named Dingqiao Town, it was reclassified as a subdistrict in 2014. Covering an area of 15.6 square kilometers, it governs 23 communities, 2 natural villages, and 8 shareholding economic cooperatives. It is also home to Dinglan Smart Town, one of Zhejiang's first 37 provincial-level characteristic towns. In recent years, Dinglan Subdistrict has pursued the overarching goal of building a "Three-Zones, Five-Type" beautiful Dinglan, embracing its historical and cultural roots while focusing on smart innovation, achieving leapfrog development in the integration of production, living, and ecology. Since 2017, it has won 180 national, provincial, and municipal honors, including Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Strong Subdistrict, Zhejiang Provincial Rule of Law Culture Demonstration Site, and Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Strong Town.
